General – Energy Island
Yesterday the Danish minister for Climate, Energy and Supply Lars Aagaard announced that Energy Island Bornholm is close to becoming a reality.

The Danish government now allows Energinet to sign an agreement for the establishment of the transmission cables and the transformer station.
It takes political courage and technical insight to carry out a project of this scale, and their work has been decisive in getting us here.
The cables will send electricity from offshore wind to Denmark and Germany.
Bornholm Energy Island is not only central to the green transition, but also provides cheaper electricity and is a crucial step towards ensuring Danish, German, and European energy independence.
