Saturday, August 16 2025

General – Subsea Cable

LS Eco Energy has rebranded and shifted its focus toward sustainable energy, expanding into subsea cable and rare-earth businesses to strengthen its position as a global green energy leader.

On August 12, LS Eco Energy (CEO Sang-Ho Lee) signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with PetroVietnam, Vietnam’s state-owned energy giant, to establish a subsea cable manufacturing joint venture at Phu My Port in southern Vietnam.

The JV will accelerate the export of Korea’s ‘Energy Highway’ HVDC transmission model, powering offshore wind projects and cross-border HVDC networks across Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, and other ASEAN countries.

Partnering with LS Marine Solution, LS Eco Energy will provide turnkey capabilities from manufacturing to installation, boosting regional energy connectivity and supporting Southeast Asia’s renewable energy transition.
