The topside of the substation, which departed from Vietnam in July, was placed on top of its jacket foundation by Shinfox Far East Energy’s vessel, the SFE Hercules.

The official launching ceremony for the offshore substation took place last month at the PetroVietnam Shipyard construction yard in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Foxwell Energy, an affiliate of Shinfox, was awarded the development contract by Taipower to both build and operate the wind farm.

TPC Phase II, with a total capacity of 300 MW, is one of eleven offshore wind projects selected by the Taiwanese government in April 2018 as part of its renewable energy development plan.

The offshore wind farm is located about 14.7 kilometers west of Lukang in Changhua County. The installation of jacket foundations for the wind turbines is currently underway, with the first foundation structure installed in March 2025.
