Fossil Energy – Norway

The Norwegian Ministry of Energy said last Friday that it is preparing to launch a new licensing round for oil and gas exploration in the Norwegian continental shelf.

It is the first such offering for new licenses in areas that have not been explored since 2021.

In a statement, Energy Minister Terje Aasland said: “Norway will be a long-term supplier of oil and gas to Europe, and the Norwegian continental shelf will continue to create value and provide job opportunities for our country.”
