Wind Energy – Inch Cape

Heerema Marine Contractors has delivered a lift for Scotland’s energy future, placing the core of Inch Cape, the nation’s largest offshore wind farm.

The 68-metre offshore jacket foundation and the Siemens Energy Offshore Transformer Module (OTM) have been installed at the Inch Cape offshore wind farm site in the North Sea, just 21 km off the Angus coast.

The 2,700-tonne platform features two circuits with two transformers and reactors, making it Siemens Energy’s first ever double OTM.

The offshore wind farm is expected to produce first power in late 2026 and to be fully commissioned the following year.
