Shore power system for DEME

Wednesday, July 23 2025

General – Shore Power

DEME recently launched a new shore power system at its Vlissingen base in the Netherlands.

This upgrade will further reduce emissions and support DEME’s goal of becoming climate neutral by 2050.

The project is supported by the Dutch government and developed in close coordination with North Sea Port and Verbrugge Terminals.

DEME will also prioritize shore power compatibility when chartering third-party vessels, further reducing emissions during port stays.
