Fossil Energy – Indonesia

Italian contracting giant Saipem has selected China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) to build the hull of a floating production, storage and offloading vessel destined for Eni’s Kutei North Hub gas project offshore Indonesia.

The project will tap into 5 trillion cubic feet of gas and 400 million barrels of condensate from the Geng North discovery, Eni announced in October 2023, as well as the 1.6 Tcf Gehem field via subsea wells and flowlines.

A new FPSO will serve as the central processing and export hub, with the capacity to handle approximately 1 billion cubic feet of gas per day and 80,000 barrels of condensate per day.

The floater will be able to store 1 million barrels of crude oil.
