This is the largest offshore wind power project in Korea.

The Haesong offshore wind power plant will be built on the western sea of Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do with two 504MW complexes, totaling 1GW. It will be able to produce electricity equivalent to that of one nuclear power plant.

LS Marine Solutions will carry out all processes of internal and external network construction, including marine surveys, submarine cable installation and burial, and connection testing. In particular, it plans to demonstrate its high-difficulty construction capabilities in deep-sea and long-distance areas by utilizing the only newly built HVDC-dedicated installation vessel in Korea.

Kim Byeong-ok, CEO of LS Marine Solutions, said: “This selection is the result of proving our technological prowess and reliability through the successful completion of the first Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power Complex. We will further strengthen our global competitiveness by cooperating with the world’s best development and investment partners in the pine tree project.”

The Haesong offshore wind farm is being managed by CIP (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners).
