Wind Energy – Partner RWE

RWE has welcomed a new partner and co-investor for its Thor and Nordseecluster offshore wind farms.

Norges Bank Investment Management now holds a 49% equity stake in both projects.

RWE will remain in charge of construction and operations throughout the lifecycle of the wind farms, which will have a combined total capacity of 2.7 gigawatts.

Both projects are currently under construction and are progressing as planned. Installation of the foundations for Thor has begun. Turbine installation is planned for 2026, with full commissioning expected in 2027.

The Nordseecluster project is being built in two phases, with commissioning scheduled for 2027 and 2029.
