Wind Energy – OWF Samsø
Danish energy company Wind Estate secures a10-Year Lifetime Extension for Offshore Wind Farm Samsø.

Samsø is the first Offshore Windfarm to receive an extention in Denmark. Wind Estate received the extension from the Danish Energy Agency, making it the first offshore wind farm in Denmark to achieve this milestone.
The 23 MW Offshore Wind Farm was originally scheduled for decommissioning in 2027 – comprising 10 Bonus/Siemens turbines – will now continue operating until 2037, supplying approximately 80 GWh of green electricity annually. This is equivalent to the consumption of 20,000 Danish households, covering 100% of Djursland’s household electricity demand.
The decision is the result of Wind Estate’s strategic focus on preventive maintenance and lifetime extension programs, which have been implemented across both the offshore Samsø project and the company’s onshore fleet of more than 300 Legacy wind turbines.
