Ørsted announced that all 24 suction bucket jacket foundations have been installed at its Greater Changhua 2b offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
The milestone was achieved ahead of schedule in just over a month. Heerema Marine Contractors installed the suction bucket jacket foundations.
Ørsted noted that the suction bucket technology requires no piling the method significantly reduces the noise impact on the marine environment.
Greater Changhua 2b and 4 will be part of the larger Greater Changhua site, which will have a total capacity of 1.82 GW when fully completed. The complex also includes two already operational offshore wind farms, Greater Changhua 1 and 2a.
