AIS Bardot partners with Saipem for Total’s Angola FPSO project

Fossil Energy – Angola

AIS Bardot has secured another award from Saipem for Total’s Kaminho project in Angola.

This award is for the manufacture and supply of three complete hybrid riser lines, each 100 m long. These will be used to pump seawater to ensure the appropriate volume and flow of cold water to cool essential equipment and prevent overheating in the FPSO unit.

Manufactured with high-density polyethylene instead of traditional rubber and steel, AIS claims that its solution is lighter in weight, leading to reduced operating costs and less energy consumption.

The company says the water intake risers are engineered to meet precise requirements of water depth, temperature, and flow rate, and they accommodate the hydrodynamic stresses of the operational environment.

They are designed to be easy to install, with a long life span and no maintenance required, AIS added.
