Multi-year vessel support contract for MMA

Thursday, May 22 2025

General – Contract MMA

MMA has been awarded a multi-year contract for the high-specification platform supply vessel, MMA Plover.

Chevron Australia has contracted the vessel to provide marine logistics support to its Barrow Island and Wheatstone assets, which are located off the coast of Western Australia.

MMA is pleased to be supporting these assets, which are critical producers of natural gas for Western Australia and liquified natural gas (LNG) for the Asia Pacific region, and home to one of the world’s largest Carbon Capture and Storage systems.

The vessel will undergo an extensive modification program to enable the carriage of up to 90 TEU (20 ft-equivalent unit sea containers) and provide superior operational efficiency and reliability.

Featuring advanced technologies such as high-performance hull coatings leading to reduced biofouling and therefore increased fuel efficiency, the vessel contributes to emissions reduction aspirations for both Cyan and our client.
