Wind Energy – Survey

Geoquip Marine has completed a preliminary geotechnical site investigation for two unnamed offshore wind projects in the German North Sea.

Each project is planned to contribute 4GW of capacity.

The data gathered will support the developer in progressing to the next stage of design and engineering. As part of the contract, Geoquip drilled 28 boreholes across the two sites, carrying out soil sampling and seismic monitoring to assess subsurface conditions at depths of around 40 metres.

The work was performed using the Dina Polaris vessel, which is equipped with advanced geotechnical drilling, testing tools, and an offshore laboratory.
