Wind Energy – Denmark
Denmark will construct three new offshore wind farms, totaling 3 GW of green offshore wind power, based on a milestone agreement reached today!
The Danish government has listened to the feedback from the market, has responded to the feedback, and provided the needed basis for a successful offshore wind re-tender.
The agreement has the following important and needed elements in it:
– State subsidy based on a double sided CfD model;
– Flexibility in terms of installation year that secures a timely build-out of the 3 offshore wind farms, and at the same time addresses the current bottlenecks in the supply of wind turbines and the electrical systems;
– Penalties are still in place for delays, however, they are relaxed to accommodate a realistic project schedule;
– Costs for site investigations and site surveys are borne and paid by the Danish state.
With this agreement in place, Denmark and Europe are on the path of securing energy independence, energy security, and green power for the electrification of heating, transportation, and industries in Europe!
