Wednesday, April 23 2025

General – Collosion

The offshore supply vessel (OSV) Glomar Venture, owned by Glomar Offshore, was involved in a serious maritime incident on April 20th, striking the base of an offshore wind turbine approximately 15 nautical miles off the coast of Callantsoog in the Dutch North Sea.

The collision resulted in injuries to two crew members aboard the vessel. Following an emergency call at around 07:00 local time, the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) initiated a coordinated rescue operation. Lifeboats Irene & Henk, Koen Oberman, and Joke Dijkstra were dispatched to the scene. The injured individuals were safely transported to Den Helder and subsequently transferred to a hospital by ambulance.

The Glomar Venture, operating with a crew of eight, was later escorted to the Port of Den Helder by the coast guard vessel Guardian and KNRM rescue units.

Authorities have launched an official investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
