Technology to monitor subsea power cables

Thursday, April 10 2025

General – Power Cables

Jan de Nul says it is the first company having implemented Wirescan Digital, an innovative technology to monitor subsea power cables in real-time.

It allows Jan de Nul to monitor the integrity of the cables in real-time, from the moment it leaves the factory throughout handling and installation. The result: Jan de Nul is always in control of the condition of the cable and can ensure more efficient and secure installation.

The Belgian cable installer has installed over 1,000 km of cables using this innovative technology and decided to roll it out to its entire cable-laying fleet.
