Wind Energy – Seabed Survey

G-TEC from Belgium recently completed the seabed survey in the Doordewind Wind Farm Zone.

The survey was commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

The Doordewind project is part of the Netherlands Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap 21 GW. Doordewind has a planned total capacity of 4 GW; the tender for the development of the first 2 GW is planned for 2027, with the commissioning set for 2032.

The seabed survey carried out saw G-TEC acquire, process, and deliver a range of high-quality geophysical data, comprising multibeam echosounder (MBES), side-scan sonar (SSS), sub-bottom profiler (SBP), and magnetometry (MAG).

G-TEC executed this survey in both a safe and efficient manner. This was done using its survey vessels Mainport GEO and Karina.
