General – Cable Maintenance and Repair
Earlier this week Prysmian announced a 7-year framework agreement with N-Sea, an integrated subsea solutions service provider for rapid response maintenance and repair of submarine cables.
This solution will complement Prysmian’s proprietary monitoring solutions and its overall Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair (IMR) capabilities – bringing to the market the most effective solution to submarine cable maintenance and repair. The announcement goes beyond the recent request of the European Commission to ensure the safety of critical energy and telecommunications infrastructure by providing the first market-led solution.
Thanks to this agreement, Prysmian is the only solutions provider to have a vessel that is fully dedicated to inspection, maintenance and repair operations. This unique capability will ensure the fastest and most effective response to any disruption. Under the terms of the agreement, there will be dedicated engineering services, a specialized vessel, and skilled and qualified high voltage jointers ready to intervene.
The agreement will ensure that customers and the public, will benefit from enhanced energy security, bolstering the resilience of this critical infrastructure, addressing prevention, detection, response, and reinstatement.
