Wind Energy – Taiwan
Thanks to the great teamwork from CDWE’s local colleagues in the HL OSS team, cooperation from stakeholders at Hai Long and the offshore specialists onboard the installation vessel Green Jade, CDWE managed to install the HL3 Topside in record time.

Earlier this month CDWE sailed away from PTSC M&C Vung Tau Vietnam towards Taichung Port in Taiwan. The transport faced adverse weather conditions on the voyage, challenges in port and a tight schedule!
With the installation of the HL3 OSS topside on the jacket for the Hai Long Offshore Wind Project, CDWE completed two offshore substations following the OSS installation campaign in May last year for this >1GW offshore wind farm.

The precise placement of the offshore topside on the jacket foundation is a testament to CDWE’s engineering capabilities and commitment to renewable energy.
With the project spearheaded by a joint venture between Northland Power Inc., Mitsui & Co., and Gentari, and featuring Siemens Gamesa’s SG 14-222 DD turbines, the offshore wind farm located 45-70 kilometres off the Changhua coast is set to make significant strides in boosting Taiwan’s energy sustainability.
