This agreement centers around the high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system, marking a pivotal step for Taihan as it seeks to establish a foothold in the advanced European power market.

National Grid UK has pursued framework contracts for both HVDC cable systems and transformers to secure a stable supply chain in the HVDC market where supply shortages are expected.

The total project size is approximately 59 billion pounds (110 trillion won), and more than 15 submarine and underground HVDC projects are expected to be carried out over the next eight years.

Taihan Cable & Solution will participate in the bids for the 525kV and 320kV HVDC cable system projects promoted by National Grid for up to eight years from 2025.
