PRIO to drill Wahoo

Saturday, March 15 2025

Fossil Energy – Drilling

Last month, on February 28th, PRIO was granted the drilling license for the development of the Wahoo field, located in the Campos basin.

Drilling rig, Hunter Queen, has been on-site since early March to begin the drilling campaign, which includes 4 production wells and 2 injection wells.

Wahoo’s production infrastructure consists of a 35 km tieback to the nearby FPSO Valente, located to the south in the Frade field.

This production unit has a processing capacity of 100,000 bopd, which is already partially taken up by Frade’s production, currently just over 40,000 bopd, while Wahoo is expected to reach up to 40,000 bopd.
