Wind Energy – Supply Base

DEME Offshore announced that the second season of the Dominion Energy 2.6 GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Windfarm has taken off smoothly.

Under the leadership of DEME’s Project Director Yves Chiffoleau, and with the invaluable assistance of numerous local US subcontractors, DEME has built a local supply base at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Norfolk, Virginia.

At this terminal, DEME is handling an impressive 176 monopiles and transition pieces, along with 3 substations. DEME Offshore is installing all foundations, substations and the full scour protection system.

The installation project will be carried out by the Orion.

Working hand in hand with its JV partner Prysmian, DEME Offshore is installing more than 1,000 km of subsea power cables.
