General – Appointment
Scottish Minister for Climate Action Alasdair Allan has appointed a new Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC) industry co-chair to represent the country’s offshore wind industry.

Scottish Renewables chief executive Claire Mack will provide strategic leadership to SOWEC and work alongside the partnership’s subgroups and developer forum to deliver sector growth, for a two-year term.
Mack has been chief executive of Scottish Renewables since 2017 and is responsible for leading the organisation’s work to grow Scotland’s renewable energy industry and maintaining its position as a global leader in clean power.
As well as co-chairing SOWEC, Mack is a member of the First Minister’s Scottish Energy Advisory Board. She also sits on both the UK Government Onshore Wind Industry Taskforce and Electricity Networks Delivery Forum.
Claire Mack replaces Brian McFarlane.
