Wind Energy – Monopile Installation
Van Oord’s heavy lift installation vessel Svanen has successfully installed the first monopile for the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, located 23 km north of the Polish coast.

This wind farm is equipped with a new generation of 15 MW wind turbines. Thanks to a recent upgrade, including a 25-meter extension of the gantry crane, the Svanen is ready to install the foundations for this next generation of wind turbines.
Polish company ORLEN and Canadian company Northland Power have contracted Van Oord for the transport and installation of 78 foundations, consisting of a monopile and transition piece.
With a capacity of up to 1.2 GW, Baltic Power will eventually supply sustainable electricity to more than 1.5 million Polish households.
