Wind Energy – Lithuania
The Lithuanian government has temporarily suspended the tender process for an offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea to re-evaluate the conditions and minimise the impact on consumer electricity prices.
Lithuania’s National Energy Regulatory Council (NERC) launched the country’s second offshore wind tender in November 2024, seeking a developer for a 700 MW project.
On 29 January, the government announced that it put the tender on hold for review, aiming to ensure the legislative framework promotes fair competition while protecting the interests of electricity consumers.
