Wind Energy – OranjeWind

Earlier this week RWE celebrated the construction kick-off for OranjeWind, its first offshore wind project in the Netherlands, built in partnership with TotalEnergies.

With 795 MW of capacity, it will generate enough clean electricity to power the equivalent of over one million Dutch households annually.

As RWE’s first system integration project, a key part of the OranjeWind project is its integration into the Dutch energy system.

RWE will deliver an allocated part of system integration solutions, electrolysers, battery storage, e-boilers, and smart charging solutions for electric vehicles.

In October 2024, DEME was awarded the contract to carry out the transport and installation works for the inter-array cables and secondary steel for the OranjeWind offshore wind farm.
