Fire on board Jan de Nul’s Les Alizes

General – Fire

A fire broke out yesterday around 2:30 p.m. on board Jan de Nul’s crane vessel Les Alizes, which was berthed at the Wagenborg Terminal in Eemshaven, the Netherlands.

It was reported that some batteries on board had caught fire.

The ship’s approximately 100 crew members were evacuated during the incident. Some crew members assisted the fire brigade in extinguishing the fire.

The fire brigade disconnected the batteries and removed them from the ship.

At the end of the afternoon, the all-clear signal could be given.
