Boskalis vessels secure FSRU Toscana in Italy

Fossil Energy – FSRU

Our powerful anchor-handling tugs Manta and BOKA Forward, together with our construction support vessel BOKA Falcon, recently completed a project in Italy.

They were involved in the re-installation of the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) Toscana, offshore Livorno.

After mobilizing in the port of Livorno, the Manta and the BOKA Forward connected themselves to the FSRU Toscana 22 kilometers offshore and then towed it to its designated location.

Once there, the two vessels, along with two additional tugs, held the FSRU in position while the BOKA Falcon secured her to the seabed by installing six anchor chains to the turret. Later, several risers were installed from the BOKA Falcon by divers.
