New project director for Scottish wind farms

General – Appointment

Spiorad na Mara and Havbredey, two proposed offshore wind farms located off the west coast and northeast of the Isle of Lewis respectively, have announced the appointment of Martin Whyte as their new Project Director.

Martin has over 16 years of experience in offshore wind and has a track record of leadership and sustainable project development around the world. He is based in Scotland and holds degrees in Renewable Energy Engineering and Sustainability and Environmental Management from Heriot-Watt University.

Martin assumed the Project Director role this week, taking over from Tanya Davies, who led the projects since their inception in 2021. Tanya is leaving the project and Northland to pursue other opportunities and personal objectives.
