JERA committed to achieving net zero CO2 emissions by 2050

Monday, January 13 2025

General – Investment

JERA has invested approx. 2M USD in Advanced Ionics, a US-based company, that develops a new type of electrolyzer technology that uses both electrical and thermal energy to produce hydrogen.

The company has developed a unique technology capable of electrolysis in the previously unusable temperature range of 100 -650°C.

Combining this technology with various waste heat sources significantly reduces the amount of electricity required for water electrolysis, enabling the production of low-carbon hydrogen with high efficiency and low cost. This is expected to contribute to global decarbonization efforts and solutions to energy challenges.
