Thursday, December 19 2024

Wind Energy – TenneT

TenneT has completed the onshore work for the connection of the Hollandse Kust (noord), (west Alpha) and (west Beta) offshore wind farms in the IJmond region in the western part of the Netherlands.

This also marks the completion of the onshore work for the last 700 MW connection.

Four years after the first underground drilling from the Westerhout estate in Beverwijk, the onshore activities for the connection of the offshore wind farms Hollandse Kust (noord), (west Alpha) and (west Beta) has been completed.

The electricity cables have been installed at an average depth of 30 metres from sixteen work sites in the Dutch towns of Heemskerk, Beverwijk and Velsen.

In addition, the transformer station on Zeestraat in Wijk aan Zee has been built in recent years, where the electricity from the sea is brought to the correct high voltage.

All work areas have been restored and transferred back to the landowners.
