Wind Energy – First Monopile
Sif announced the manufacturing of the first monopile for Equinor’s Empire Wind 1 project at our newly expanded facilities at Maasvlakte 2, Rotterdam!
The first of 54 monopiles was completed on 28 November 2024. Production of the monopiles and transition pieces for Empire Wind 1 is on track for Q1 2025, with shipment to the USA for offshore installation near New York.
With Sif’s facilities ramping up, Sif is preparing to manufacture approximately 200 monopiles per year, solidifying its role in advancing the global energy transition.
