General – Wind Blades Factory
Vestas Wind Systems has inaugurated a new production line for manufacturing blades for its V236-15.0 MW offshore wind turbine at its factory in Taranto, Italy.
“We are proud to further invest in our European footprint. This expansion showcases the positive impact we can drive for the energy transition and job creation when we see stable demand in the market,” Kenneth Kaser, senior vice president, blades manufacturing, said in a Linkedin post.
The new line will create 1,300 direct jobs. Vestas has been manufacturing turbine components in Taranto since 1998.
