This project represents a benchmark for the industry as it is the first-ever commercial-scale installation of the Siemens Gamesa 14.7MW offshore wind turbine.

Siemens Gamesa has manufactures the 180 blades in the past year with a total workforce of around 1,300 employees in Hull. The nacelles for the project high up in Europe were built at the southern end of the North Sea: at the factory in Cuxhaven.

Cadeler has executed the installation of all 60 of these next generation turbines.

When the project is fully operational next year, it will have the capacity to power up to 1.33 million homes with renewable energy.
