Wind Energy – France

Installation operations on the Offshore Wind Farm on the Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier Islands are continuing with significant progress:

• 17 of the 61 planned inter-wind turbine cables have been installed. These cables, with a total length of 90 km, are essential for transporting the electricity produced by each wind turbine to the electrical substation. Their safety is ensured by cast iron half-shells, protecting against the risks of wear and tear related to marine movements.

• As for the foundations, 33 monopiles have already been installed by DEME’s Innovation: their diameter is 7 meters, and some are up to 68 meters long to adapt to the different depths of the site.

The aim is to finalise the installation of the foundations by February 2025, a key step towards the commissioning of the park, scheduled for the end of 2025.
