Wind Energy – New Heavy Lift Vessel

Seatrium has signed a letter of intent with Japan’s Penta-Ocean Construction (POC) for a project involving a 5,000-tonne fully-revolving heavy lift vessel aimed at Japan’s offshore wind market.

The formal contract is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2025, pending POC’s final decision.

POC, a Japanese marine contractor, aims to expand its offshore wind sector capabilities.

The company has various marine construction assets, including self-propelling trailing suction hopper and cutter suction dredgers, as well as two turbine installation vessels with lifting capacities of 800 and 1,600 tonnes.
