Wind Energy – CSOV Contract

UK-based North Star has secured a contract for a commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) from EnBW, a deal that follows another with the German developer for a service operation vessel (SOV).

Grampian Kestrel will work for EnBW during construction of the He Dreiht windfarm (source: North Star).

The new deal is for the newbuild CSOV Grampian Kestrel, a Vard 4 22 design, and will see the vessel start work for EnBW in advance of commencement of the decade-long minimum charter contract it signed with EnBW in February 2024 for a Vard 407 design SOV for the He Dreiht offshore windfarm in the North Sea.

The Grampian Kestrel will provide accommodation and logistics to support construction and commissioning work in 2025, after which it will provide operation and maintenance service for EnBW until the newbuild SOV is delivered in Q3 2026.
