Wind Energy – Taiwan
Skyborn Renewables has completed installation of all 80 turbines of the 640MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm.
The Wind Zaratan of Cadeler has installed the final turbine at Skyborn Renewables Yunlin offshore wind farm in Taiwan. With all 80 foundations and machines in place, plus work on 78 out of 81 cables done, the project is nearing the finish line.
The Yunlin offshore wind farm consists of 80 Siemens Gamesa wind turbine generators and is Taiwan’s first wind farm with monopile foundations.
“Thanks to the dedication of our team and partners, the project is on track to deliver on its promise and fully commission the Yunlin project by the end of 2024,” Skyborn said.
The Yunlin project is a top priority for Skyborn Renewables and its partners, delivering electricity under two 20-year power purchase agreements, according to the developer.
Once completed, the offshore wind farm will provide power to over 600,000 Taiwanese households.
Located in the Taiwan Strait, the project is already making a significant impact, having fed over 1.6TWh of renewable energy into the grid.
