They will be used for offshore wind projects in Europe, which are set to be commissioned from the end of 2029 onwards.

The agreement sees Steelwind reserving capacity at its German monopile production plant in Nordenham for 320,000 metric tonnes of steel, equivalent to approximately 200 monopiles, with production starting in 2027. This can then be extended to an additional capacity for around 100 monopiles. They will be made from Dillinger quality steel.

CEO Sven Utermöhlen said: “Framework agreements like this aid us in navigating through the tight market conditions, as we face challenges in the global supply chain. In this case, I am delighted that we can reinforce our collaboration with a long-standing partner.”
