Cable repair in Northern British Columbia

General – Cable Repair

Canpac Marine Services successfully mobilized its DP vessel Canpac Valour last week for an emergency submarine power cable repair in Northern British Columbia.

Accompanied by dive vessel Canpac Ranger, and one of its observation-class ROVs, the team transited along the BC coast from our home port in Vancouver to the project site.

Upon arrival, crews worked through the weekend to recover 3.5 kilometers of faulted power cable in up to 100m water depth, providing marine support to the utility owner during splice operations.

Including the deployment of two splices, the installation of the new 3.5 km section of cable was completed on Sunday.
