Wednesday, September 25 2024

Wind Energy – Nordlicht OWF

Havfram announced to be selected by Vattenfall and BASF to perform the transport and installation of turbines for the Nordlicht offshore wind farm cluster, consisting of wind farms Nordlicht I and Nordlicht II.

The signing ceremony, pictured from left to right: Mats Vikholm, Head of Project Delivery & Engineering Vattenfall, Even Larsen, CEO Havfram Wind, and Dr. Tobias Stäb, Director of BASF Renewable Energy.

As signed today, Havfram is delivering transport and installation support for a total of 112 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines.

The works are scheduled to commence in the summer of 2027. The contract adds to Havfram’s already strong backlog. For both projects, Havfram will utilize one of its state-of-the-art Wind Turbine Installation vessels, currently under construction.

Once fully operational, the Nordlicht I and II projects’ combined production is expected to be around 6 terawatt-hours (TWh) per year.
