New DP2 survey vessel for Boskalis

Saturday, August 24 2024

General – Survey Vessel

Boskalis’ versatile fleet of vessels has been expanded with the addition of the Horizon Zenith.

The large and relatively new DP2 vessel is deployed by Boskalis’ subsidiary Horizon Geosciences in the Middle East and can carry out both geophysical and geotechnical surveys offshore.

Currently, the Horizon Zenith is equipped with all the required equipment to conduct a variety of offshore surveys. The vessel also features a moonpool over which a heave compensated geotechnical drill rig can be placed from which cone penetration tests and geotechnical soil samples can be taken.

In addition, there is a remotely operated vehicle on board that can be used to conduct visual surveys and the vessel is even capable of launching small boats to conduct surveys in the very shallow areas, less than ten meters deep.
