General – Sea Fastenings

KENC Engineering from the Netherlands secured an engineering contract for the sea fastening of two large jackets, which are integral components of an offshore high voltage station (OHVS).

Upon completion, this offshore wind farm will be the largest and most powerful in the Baltic Sea, with a total capacity of 927 megawatts.

KENC’s scope includes the design and engineering of the sea fastening system for the OHVS substructures. Each steel jacket weighs 3,700 metric tons and stands approximately 33 meters tall.

During transport, these jackets will be positioned vertically on a barge, supported by our expertly designed lower and upper grillage systems, and will be welded into place. Upon arrival the jackets will be burnt loose and lowered into the sea.

The engineering work is scheduled for delivery in November 2024.
