Another cargo barge for Allseas

Wednesday, July 24 2024

General – Cargo Barge

Allseas announced the start of the construction of cargo barge Braveheart at the CIMC Changhong shipyard in Zhoushan, China with a steel cutting ceremony.

Similar to cargo barge Iron Lady, the Braveheart has the same length (200 m) and width (57 m).

The new cargo barge is also being custom-built to fit precisely inside the bow slot of the Pioneering Spirit for direct loading of topsides and jackets to and from disposal yards.

A flat deck will facilitate direct on-deck load skidding without the need for project-specific skid tracks, and a full electric ballast system for load transfer operations.

Delivery of Braveheart is expected end of 2025.
