Wind Energy – Full Ownership

Macquarie Asset Management intends to take full ownership of the 194-MW Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind farms in England under a deal agreed with funds managed by US investment giant BlackRock.

The asset manager of Australia’s Macquarie Group said on Wednesday it will buy the 39.25% it does not already own in the two offshore wind parks. The deal will be carried out through the Macquarie GIG Renewable Energy Fund 2 and a Macquarie Asset Management Private Wealth Fund.

Macquarie GIG Renewable Energy Fund 1 currently holds a 60.75% stake in Lynn and Inner Dowsing, which it acquired back in 2016.

The Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind parks are located in proximity to each other off the coast of Lincolnshire.

Macquarie, along with partners, is currently developing the 2-GW West of Orkney, 1.5-GW Outer Dowsing, 1.2-GW Rampion 2 and 353-MW Five Estuaries offshore wind projects in British waters.
