The agreement aims to promote international responsible business conduct (IRBC) in the renewable energy sector. TenneT does this by jointly identifying and addressing human rights and environmental risks in the value chain.

Sustainability is an integral part of our business. As a leading green grid operator, TenneT intends to expand existing due diligence practices and minimize impact on people and the planet. TenneT will do this in the coming years, especially in our offshore portfolio in Germany and the Netherlands, where the company has long-term framework contracts in an international setting.

Dr. Johannes Kammer, Associate Director 2GW at TenneT explains: “We are in challenging times where the energy market needs innovative changes to achieve a carbon-neutral European energy system. TenneT aims to accelerate this transition with a holistic view on sustainability. As part of this strategy, we are pleased to commit to the international responsible business conduct agreement for the renewable energy sector.”
