General – New Product
Strohm recently announced a breakthrough in its product lineup tailored for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) applications.
Through pioneering development and rigorous testing, Strohm has successfully qualified a new product based on carbon fibre and advanced PVDF polymer.
This innovation marks a significant evolution in Strohm’s growth trajectory, setting new standards in pipeline design and performance.
The PVDF-based thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) technology offers a corrosion-free alternative with a 30-year design life and a proven smaller carbon footprint compared to steel.
This makes it an optimal choice for offshore CO2 injection, whether in depleted gas fields or aquifers, and for ultra deepwater applications across the offshore energy sector.
Martin Van Onna, CEO of Strohm, expressed his enthusiasm: “One of our central pillars at Strohm is our drive to introduce disruptive technologies to the market, thereby doing our bit to help the transition move forward at pace -this is a clear-cut example of that ambition bearing fruit. There is a big future for this innovative solution, both in CCS and in conventional offshore energy, and we look forward to working with companies to help them realise the value that TCP can bring to their projects.”
