Largest foundation installed for Revolution Wind OWF

Friday, June 28 2024

Wind Energy – Revolution USA

For the transport and installation campaign for Ørsted and Eversource’s Revolution Wind offshore wind farm off the east coast of the United States, Boskalis reached one when the crane vessel Bokalift 2 successfully installed the largest foundation recently.

This wind turbine foundation is 114 meters long and weighs 2,105 tons. Later this year, the Bokalift 2 will install two even larger foundations, but these serve a different purpose in the 704 MW offshore wind farm, which will provide Connecticut & Rhode Island with green power. They are needed to carry the two offshore substations.

Along the East Coast of the United States, Boskalis is working with a large number of specialized offshore vessels this year. In addition to the Bokalift 2, these include our crane vessel Bokalift 1, several semi-submersible heavy transport vessels and US vessels engaged in surveying, monitoring, and component transportation.
