General – Gangway Installation

Wagenborg, based in the Netherlands, has recently announced an upgrade to its walk-to-work (w2w) vessel, Kingsborg.

The vessel returned to the Niestern Sander shipyard for the installation of an a-type Ampelmann gangway, further enhancing its capabilities in the offshore energy sector, particularly in the southern north sea.

The installation of the Ampelmann gangway is a strategic move by Wagenborg to strengthen its position in the highly competitive walk-to-work market.

With the Ampelmann gangway, Kingsborg can now provide a safer and more efficient means of transferring personnel to and from offshore installations, even in challenging weather conditions.
